It was a dark and stormy night…

Well, it would have been if we hadn’t set a rain check for our photo shoot with John and Tweedy. A few months ago in September–for our Anniversary–John and Tweedy Cudal offered one of the best gifts my husband and I have ever gotten. Memories! Both partners of this photography duo are professional shutter bugs and gave us a romantic couples session of our choosing. We’ve known them for a while through an organization we work with called DerekStar and they’re some of the most reliable and talented people we’ve come to be close friends with.

Chameleon Tendencies

I’ve known Tayen for a few years now–she even helped my husband and I with some great marriage counsel when we were still wet behind our ”dating” ears. This one is so multi-faceted that I’ve even heard others ask “What DON’T you do?” I feel the same sometimes when I’ve been with her from art show, to church conference, to bible study, to animation project, to photo shoot. She is a great girl to have in your tool belt and as a source of encouragement and  support.

Proactively Passionate

Ordinarily I interview artists who have been on the scene for years, but my recent shoot with Amanda has sparked my new Featurette series. These articles focus on the individuals who are taking steps in a new direction, and I hope that this inspires anyone who’s been stuck living a life that is no longer satisfying them. Have you ever wanted to just quit your job, move somewhere else, and start over in a new profession? I wouldn’t suggest such a stark change, but Amanda will share with you how she’s quickly making her shift from the office to the lens. I’ve been very blessed by her response to my questions, and I know you will “walk away” with some great nuggets of advice as well.

Fresh Face

About two weeks ago, a lovely young lady found my site through a link I left on Facebook and had some inquiries regarding her interest in acting and modeling. After exchanging a few emails with Anais, I was booked as her photographer for her very first shoot! I grabbed my good friend Tayen of Tayen Styles to do hair and makeup and we were set. Everything I recommended for Anais to prepare for this day was taken to heart and I could not have been more pleased with the organization and commitment she presented to my team.

Venice Dream

Good day, ladies and gents! I was surprised to receive a Labor Day gift in my inbox when I got home today. I guess my photographer took her labor seriously and was able to pump out a completely edited, completely gorgeous set of photos for my viewing pleasure. Not only do I get to view them, I think you all deserve to preview a few of the many gems I’ve fallen for.

I met Shelly of “Shelly Eve Blog“ on the set of the Lady Gaga “Judas” video in April of this year. Since she was in town visiting for a few weeks, we decided to schedule a shoot together with my friend Tayen of “Tayen Styles“. We trekked up and down Venice Beach for a few photogenic spots–I didn’t know there WERE that many–to take some urban styled photos. I hope you have a chance to shoot there one day, and I know I will again. Enjoy the photos and don’t forget to stop by Shelly’s blog and show her some love.
